Full Scope Editing

My mission is to make editing services more accessible and affordable for authors planning to self-publish. Fees are discussed on a project-by-project basis. Please fill out the contact form for more information or request a quote.

Due to the nature of "full scope" editing turnaround times will vary, usually depending on the condition of the manuscript. Typically, for a manuscript of approx. It will take, on average, 6-8 weeks to complete 160,000 words. That time encompasses all stages of the editing process. It can take longer, depending on you as the author and the Beta stage, as well as every stage in between, where you have to work to approve or reject edits, etc.

The Collaboration Survey is designed to help us collaborate and ensure that I respect your work, voice, and ideas. It allows me to better understand your intentions as the author and tailor my editing approach to support your vision.

The general structure of each project will resemble something like this:

developmental editing ~4 weeks

back to you for approval/rejection of edits - and engaging BETA readers

copyediting ~2-3 weeks, depending on feedback and changes made after BETA readers

back to you for approval/editing

Final Proofread ~1 week

Completion

The entire project time is ~1.5-2 months, depending on the condition of your manuscript.

I offer a brief assessment and a sample edit (typically 2-3 pages) free of charge.

Each contract will outline:

- Scope of work.

- Tentative time frame.

- Manuscript specifics.

- The fee is determined by said manuscript specifics.

- Additional clauses 

- I also give every client the ability to cancel services (without cause) with at least a 7-day notice, at which time I will prorate the fee for work done and refund the rest. 

The prorate will be determined using the following formula:

fee/word count = X  

X*completed word count = X 

example $350/150,000=0.002

0.002*15,000=$35.00

Your refund would be $315.00, less the base fee of $20

making your total refund $295.00
